The Chyron CODI (sometimes referred to as the “Blackbox Codi”) was an analog character generator designed to be remotely controlled by a computer. It saw a ton of use, particularly with TV stations when paired with the Sage Alerting Systems ENDEC or TFT EAS 911 Emergency Alert System encoder.

It was eventually replaced with the DigiBox CODI.
