Texscan MSI was a manufacturer of character generators and commercial insertion equipment for use in cable TV systems. Texscan MSI was formed as a subsidiary of Texscan Corporation in 1980 following Texscan Corporation's acquisition of MSI Television from Com Tel, Inc.¹⁾ In 1983, Texscan MSI acquired Computer Video Systems, Inc., another manufacturer of character generators produced under the COMPUVID brand. The combined company was named Texscan MSI/Compuvid.
