The CG830 was the mid range option in the 800 Series. It allowed for color backgrounds, but could only show black and white text, and did not genlock. A variant, the CG830E, offered upgraded page memory (224 pages instead of 99), colored text, and new background colors.¹⁾

Another variant, the CG830EAS, was commonly used in Emergency Alert System installations at cable television plants and television stations to display alert information to viewers. It interfaced with the EAS equipment via RS-232 Serial. ²⁾
